About Jennie

Soprano Jennie Judd Reyes performs a wide-ranging repertoire spanning from the Baroque era to the present day. She is recognized for her versatility and expressive artistry across both concert and chamber settings. On the operatic stage, Judd’s credits include Blonde in Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Opera Grand Rapids); Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance (Opera Grand Rapids and the Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company, Chicago); Laurette in Doctor Miracle; and Frasquita in Carmen (Kalamazoo Philharmonia); Cunegonde in Bernstein’s Candide; and Susanna (cover) and Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro (Janiec Opera Company). A frequent performer of early music, Judd’s repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah with the Calvin Oratorio Society and Zeeland Civic Choir; Bach’s St. John Passion and cantatas such as Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen (BWV 51), Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland (BWV 61), and Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben (BWV 147); Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater (Gaudete); Couperin’s Première Leçon de Ténèbres; and Telemann’s Die Kinder des Höchsten sind rufende Stimmen. She has performed these works with ensembles including the Holland Bach Society and VoxGR. Most recently, Judd appeared as a featured artist in the West Michigan Symphony season alongside harpsichordist, Alexis Van Zalen and bassist, Robert Johnson. This Holiday season, she will be featured with the Holland Symphony. Judd completed her training at the University of Michigan (M.M.), Wheaton College (B.M.), and Sight & Sound Theatres with her certificate in Musical Theatre Performance. Judd currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Music at Hope College where she teaches voice. Her most recent and most cherished role is mom to Josie.
