The Erinys Quartet is an award-winning string quartet formed at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. With roots in Greece, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, and the United States, the ensemble has quickly established itself through major competition successes and performances at leading festivals and venues. Their playing is distinguished by expressive depth, technical brilliance, and a commitment to imaginative programming. The Erinys Quartet was awarded the first prize at the 2025 Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition, as well as prizes at Bad Tölz International String Quartet Competition and Fischoff Competition. Erinys has performed at such venues as Konzerthaus Berlin, Amsterdam String Quartet Biennale, Lucerne Festival, and the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society. In the 26-27 season Erinys looks forward to presenting concerts and teaching masterclass around North America and Europe, including debuts at Oslo Quartet Series and Bergen Chamber Music Society. Since 2021 Erinys Quartet has been supported by Le Dimore del Quartetto where they are also a part of the European Union-sponsored MERITA platform. The Erinys Quartet’s primary mentors include the Dover and Pacifica Quartets, Günter Pichler, Atar Arad, and Marko Ylönen. Since Autumn 2025 Erinys has been the graduate quartet-in residence at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Erinys has previously completed a residency at the Curtis Institute of Music and pursued additional studies in chamber music at Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, Spain.
