Jenna Anderson Buchner became a member of the Grand Rapids Symphony in 2016. She earned her Master’s degree in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy from the Cleveland Institute of Music and her Bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music. Her principal teachers include David Updegraff, Zvi Zeitlin, Lynn Blakeslee and David Russell. Jenna has been featured twice as soloist with the Grand Rapids Symphony. She serves as Principal Second Violinist of the Baroque on Beaver Music Festival on Beaver Island, Michigan. Prior to moving to Michigan in 2014, she was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Akron Symphony. She maintains a private studio in Grand Rapids. When she’s not working, Jenna enjoys playing cribbage and other board and card games, laughing at terrible jokes usually involving puns, and going for long walks with her family of handsome men, husband Mark, son Oliver, and dog Norby.
