
About Jinn
Jinn Shin currently plays in the Grand Rapids Symphony and serves on the cello faculty at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids. Prior to moving to Grand Rapids, she served as the assistant principal cellist for the Eugene (Oregon) Symphony Orchestra and was a fellow with the Orchestra Now at Bard College. An avid chamber musician, Jinn has appeared in the Sunday Strings series at the Frederik Meijer Gardens and with the Chamber Music Festival of Saugatuck. Jinn completed the Master of Music degree at the Manhattan School of Music, the Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance at the Eastman School of Music and the Bachelor of Arts degree in Brain & Cognitive Sciences from the University of Rochester. Additional performance studies include participating in summer festivals at the Tanglewood Music Center, the Music Academy of the West, the Aspen Music Festival, the Bard Music Festival, and the New Mexico Chamber Music Festival.
