About Lexi
We are excited to announce the winner of our 2025 Art Contest as Saugatuck High School 11th grade student, Alexandria Stoin!! Keep an eye out for Lexi's artwork in our festival communications this spring. In her Artist Statement, Lexi shares,
"My art piece is named Colorful Strings. The bright colorful watercolor violin reflects the vibrant essence of Saugatuck, a town that thrives on creativity and a cheerful community. The bright colors I chose symbolize the fun, free-spirited atmosphere that defines this unique town. Each color flows freely much like the energy that comes from Saugatuck. The bright free-flowing colors on this piece can also represent chamber music and how vibrant and alive it can be. The watercolor technique I used mirrors the town's dynamic character, considering it doesn't stay within the lines. This intentional choice represents Saugatuck's commitment to thinking outside the box. One way Saugatuck has done this is by bringing chamber music into people's lives. My piece captures the essence, enjoyment, and inspiration that Saugatuck instills in everyone who encounters it. Through this artwork, I try to convey the lively spirit of Saugatuck, inviting viewers to experience the colorful tapestry of life that this town has to offer. My art piece is supposed to outline a violin. I chose a violin to represent chamber music. I chose the violin because of its ability to blend seamlessly with other instruments, just like the colors on the paper seamlessly blending into each other. Overall, this piece is supposed to represent the livelihood of Saugatuck and the vibrant essence that chamber music has to offer. "
Lexi has been interested in art since she was a kid and was inspired to begin by her older siblings.
