Susan Wiersma Uchimura · Piano
Susan Wiersma Uchimura received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music and her Master of Music degree from South Carolina. She has performed across the United States with the Merling Trio, including concerts in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, and Gartner Auditorium at the Cleveland Museum of Art. She has been a Meadowmount School of Music faculty member and has taught in the preparatory departments of the Cleveland Institute and Augusta College. She performs regularly with major young artists through the Encore School for Strings, the Pensacola Summer Music Festival, the Music Teacher’s National Association Collegiate Artist Competition, and the Stulberg Auditions. Her teachers have included Jack Radunsky, Eunice Podis, Phyllis Rappeport, and Edna Golandsky. Summer festival appearances include the Aspen Music School and the Banff Centre for Fine Arts.
Ms. Uchimura has also served as an adjudicator and has presented numerous master classes and workshops throughout the United States.
