 Gregory Maytan · violin
Gregory Maytan earned his doctorate from the Bloomington, IN School of Music and is now on the faculty at Grand Valley State University. He performs regularly as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. Maytan has performed extensively in Europe and the US, playing about 50 recitals a year. Recent engagements include multiple performances of the Paganini, Sibelius, Bruch, Barber and Tchaikovsky Violin Concertos with various orchestras in the United, Europe and the Far East. An avid chamber musician, he has participated in the prestigious chamber music festivals in Sweden and Memphis, Tennessee. He has performed at venues such as Ravinia, Tanglewood and the Chicago Cultural Center and has been selected to perform on the Dame Myra Hess concert series in December of 2011. He is currently performing on the 1766 'ex-Loeb' Nicolo Gagliano.
