Robert Byrens · Viola & Piano

Former Associate Artistic Director of Chamber Music Festival of Saugatuck (1998-2007), Robert Byrens serves as artist-faculty member at Grand Valley State University where he is head of the accompanying department, viola instructor, and a former member of the Perugino String Quartet. He has studied music at the American Boychoir School; Olivet College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude; Western Michigan University; the Geneva Conservatory in Switzerland; Westminster Choir College and Indiana University at South Bend. His principal teachers include Dalton Baldwin, Ivan Frazier, and Ronald Gorevic. He has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, Garth Newel, Blossom and Fontana Summer Music Festivals.
